You are matched with a host institution based on your academic interests and typically work under the supervision of a PhD student mentor or researcher. During the internship, you gain practical research experience, strengthen your technical and analytical skills, and learn how academic research operates in an international setting. The program emphasizes close mentorship and active involvement in ongoing research projects rather than passive observation. 2. Ladder University Internship Program

Location: Remote! You can work from anywhere in the world.
Application deadline: Deadlines vary depending on the cohort. Spring (January), Summer (May), Fall (September), and Winter (November). 
Program dates: Multiple cohorts throughout the year, including Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

Ladder University Internship Program is a selective, virtual internship program where you work with startups and nonprofits from around the world! The startups range across a variety of industries. 3. Max Planck Institutes - Computer Science Research Internships

Location: Germany (Saarbrücken, Kaiserslautern, and Bochum)
