Who is eligible for the CiS internship?
The internship has specific eligibility criteria, including:
Full-time enrollment as a 9th or 10th grader in an SFUSD school (verify your school’s eligibility here).
Maintaining a GPA of at least 2.5, with a grade of C or higher in science and math.
Eligibility to obtain a valid work permit (U.S. citizens or others authorized to work in the U.S.).
Commitment to attendance requirements for two to three years, until high school graduation.
Ability to commute to the Academy and nearby sites after school and on Saturdays during the academic year, and on weekdays during summer (some remote work may also be required).
Demonstrating enthusiasm for learning, teaching, and participating in science.

How is the internship structured?
The CiS program offers a structured experience spanning two to three years:
Fieldwork and Facilitation: On Saturdays during the school year and weekdays in the summer, you’ll conduct outdoor fieldwork and lead educational activities for Academy visitors.
Training Sessions: Twice a month, you’ll enhance your science communication skills, gain career insights from STEM professionals, and receive guidance on topics like financial literacy and college applications.
